East Fife Taxi Fare Review 2025 – Have Your Say

Fife Council has started the 2025 review of taxi fares. The current fare scale took effect on 3 June 2024 and the new scale must be fixed by 3 December 2025. The Regulation and Licensing Committee is scheduled to consider proposals on 9 September 2025 before a public consultation period.

Why it matters

  • Maintenance and repairs have increased year on year.
  • Insurance remains high compared with pre 2022 levels.
  • Vehicle purchase and replacement costs are up, with the 5 year age rule adding pressure.
  • Staff costs rose with the higher National Living Wage and employer NIC.
  • Fife Council licensing and compliance fees increased from April 2025.
